Lina Kallee has an 18 year experience as a Trainer of Mobility, Orientation and Daily Life Skills for people with partial or complete loss of sight. Lina worked as an instructor at Protoporia of the Center for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind (nonprofit organization), training visually impaired children (preschoolers or of school age), teenagers and adults and as a freelancer at private ophthalmology clinics. Since 2014, she has been a research associate of the Department of Primary Health Care – Medical Education of the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, aiming at raising the awareness of students / health professionals regarding patients with visual impairment issues.
She holds a degree from the Department of Physiotherapy of ATEITH, the Department of Theology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, a master’s degree in Pedagogy, while she has completed the Mediation Training from the ADR Hellenic Center and received her Certified Mediator Certification from the Ministry of Justice.
At a scientific research level, she has organized and supported a variety of experiential workshops, as well as training presentations in various university departments of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (TEFAA, Medical School), PAMAK, ATEI.TH. (Department of Physiotherapy) and the University of Thessaly. She participated as a counselor in accessibility matters in European programs of several university departments, while she has publications in various scientific conferences and magazines. Her main research and professional interest is parents and guardians counselling in early intervention programs regarding infants and toddlers with visual difficulties.
